Principal's Message: October 2019

October 17, 2019

Hello Parents,

The Dwight-A-Thon was a great success today. Students and parents had fun walking the track or the course to raise money for our school. Mr. Conner did a wonderful job warming us up and organizing the event with our PTA on the fundraising committee. While I was concerned about the weather, it turned out to be a beautiful breezy fall morning! Please know that you can make donations until November 15 and all of your contributions go to our Dwight students and teachers! Students have already earned a PJ Day which is TOMORROW!

Fall Conferences have come to a close. Thank you for attending and for your active participation in the meetings. Our teachers work incredibly hard to provide your children with meaningful learning experiences each day. If we work together, we can do so much!

Finally, I want you to know that we will be having our second lock down drill at the end of next week. Typically, I provide you with the exact date and time, but we have been asked by the Fairfield Police Department to provide staff and parents with a window of time rather than a specific date and time to make the drill a more authentic practice. Please know that if you come to the door and there is a sign that says, "Lock Down in Progress," you will have to wait to pick up your child until the drill is complete.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
